Right after Joyann got back from distant lands, we took a trip down to Long Beach on the Washington coast.

1: Our cabin was a five-minute walk from the beach, through a small strip of trees |
2: Between the trees and the beach was a stretch of grassland |
|
8: I'm not much for black-and-white, but this didn't turn out too badly |
|
11: A flock of gulls and terns takes to the air |
|
16: This sign (in a fudge shop, no less!) made me think of Tiff |
|
18: A house finch perches on one of the neighboring cabins |
20: The wind at Ft. Stevens State Park was pretty strong |
|
21: Joyann poses on a bluff at Ft. Stevens State Park |
22: The path back to the parking lot is illuminated by sunlight, as a container ship passes out of the Columbia and puts out to sea. |
23: Same image, but with the sky lightened a bit |
|
25: Me on the beach at Ft. Stevens State Park (photo taken by Joyann) |
26: Joyann on the beach at Ft. Stevens State Park |
27: We headed back to the car after walking around on the beach for an hour. The wind has almost erased the footprints we left when we first arrived. |
|
30: Coffee and cribbage at a coffee shop in Seaside |
31: Seaside has gotten remarkably commercial in the past decade |
32: We stopped off at a small state park on the way home |
